I think this one is huge. Hit them while they are disembarking. Also, because I learned this the very very VERY painful way in the COC game. there are places that troops moving PAST an enemy position wil be attacked at a huge disadvantage even if they aren't disembarking. (Mainly the strait of Messina) but I am going to imagine maybe the Bosporus and Denmark? but that is a guess. Anyway, lost a lot of troops in those waters so might be worth being careful.

Defending your shore is VERY important. A disembarkoing army has a massive disadvantage. on the dub and destroy alliance game, i held off 53 iunits with 6. Granted i lost my 6 but only 29 of his divisions survived and with about 30 morale. I then crushed them with a divison of 13. Keep that in mind mates.

make sure to rotate men when they r in allies borders to keep morale high or else its useless to have them there

Great point Piff. Cycle troops out to you capital or a nearby provience if you have the time.
